A combination of a dragon age noir au floating around, donc-desole drawing alistair as an incompetent detective and Anders as an underpaid stripper, and a weekend of binge playing LA Noir.. well… this was bound to happen.
i think it’s funny that fenris fans who are staunchly anti-anders are the ones who typically infantilize fenris, pretend like he does nothing wrong, fetishize his abuse, and turn his trauma into a punchline—and then have the gall to shit on anders for the way he treats fenris. honestly those fans do more harm to their fave than anders ever did.
also i don’t think people who talk about anders fans like they think he’s an innocent little angel who does no wrong have actually interacted with one? because trust me, that’s not the case. there are literal memes about what an asshole he is coming from people who love him
We are willing to be Anders critical, while acknowledging the good parts of his characters, and seeing the good potential in him far outweighs the bad.
Also, a character doesn’t have to be a perfect innocent pure and blameless angelic cinnamon roll too good for this woooorld to be a great character. His flaws are what give his character depth and make him feel more real and relatable. In fact I’d wager that I personally might not like Anders as a character as much if he weren’t so flawed. We know our feather mage isn’t perfect, and we love him all the more for it ❤
This fandom owes me five dollars for every single fucking time someone says ‘Anders is the apostate, so he’s going to/did break my Hawke’s heart’. Like have you all even fucking met this man?
