Regarding Anders

ithinkitsdashing:

Maybe we scream so loud because we find ourselves in a similar situation. Maybe we shout and claw and fight for him because we can’t fight like that for ourselves. No, it’s not the same, but our political climate is still absurd.

Maybe we defend him so hard because he stands for everything Just. Equality and freedom. Maybe we turn on you so quickly because you don’t see what we do – a man who fights for the poor, who heals the poor, who frees the abused, and somewhere along the way you choose to ignore that. You forgot, or never saw it to begin with.

Maybe, in this fantasy world, we stand our ground and shout, united – because we see what is right and he did everything he could!

Maybe we do it because in our lives, we can’t. We’ll be punished for standing up like that. Lose our jobs, be ridiculed – even made fun of for being poor. Or not even that – for understanding what it is like being poor.

Maybe that is why we run out of energy and block the Anders hate.

Maybe it’s because he is the bright light we wish to see in our lives

and maybe you being completely ignorant of that is, indeed, cause enough to ignore your shit.

Have you considered that?

alright no listen in Awakening if Anders is complaining about how tough his life is as a mage and you tell him “welcome to the rest of the world” it only generates disapproval if you are a Cousland.  If you are an elf or a dwarf it does not.  He realizes yes, you are right, I am not the only one with a problem here.  He recognizes that human nobles have a privilege that no one else has.  Not elves, not mages, not surfacer dwarves.  He knows this.

Also when examining the statue of Andraste and he mentions the fact that Andraste was a barbarian, a dwarf or an elven warden can say ‘aren’t all humans?’ And his response is a laugh with a ‘haha you got me there’ and no approval lost.

Lmao @ people preaching “Anders was a murderer and he did bad things so he deserved to die!!!” because

you’re saying killing is wrong and yet you think a proper punishment for his actions is literally killing him.
