I returned to the Christmas market (@ Senate square), as I was heading to a Christmas song event at the Helsinki Cathedral. I had about half an hour to look through the market stalls and sample some treats (a good way to spend this second Sunday of Advent).

Then the event began, and I got to listen to some Christmas songs for an hour or so (it was my first time inside Helsinki Cathedral btw). It sort of reminded me of some of those Christmas ceremonies back in comprehensive school. What was funny though was that there was this man in the back row who was singing like an opera singer. His voice really stood out and you could hear him randomly SHOUTING and it was hilarious. It made me think of that one sketch from “Alas Smith and Jones” (even if the situation is a bit different in the sketch):

Brilliant.

Anyways yes, I’m slowly getting into the Christmas spirit, but I reckon it’ll happen more effectively once I travel home. Which is NEXT THURSDAY omg. Maybe I’ll go to one more Christmas song thingy on Wednesday (in Suomenlinna Church), if I have the energy.
