ME3 – Sea of fire and smoke by ~Lornet
I finished this one a few weeks ago for veter-vetrennij
At first it was supposed to be my part in our art trade. Maybe I’ll even see my Thane request someday.. >:]
Anyway, I really enjoyed drawing Kaidan, even though I messed up his armor о_-

It will take time, but we can rebuild everything that was destroyed.
Our homes, our worlds, our fleets and defenses. All of this, and more.
Together we can build a future greater than any of us could imagine.
N7 Month – Day 11: Rebuild
tbh tho
I really like the reapers as villains. they’re probably my number one villains. I felt their actual menace and sort of… benign evil. they’re awful and horrible and commit atrocities but they don’t do it to specially be evil they do it because that’s what they do. And that’s what makes them scary.
they’re like a hurricane or flood, you can get angry and rage against them and despair but they won’t notice or care or listen to arguments. there’s no reasoning, no stopping them except that deus ex machina (literally)
sovereign finally talking to you gives you chills because he’s so LOUD. so RED. so imperious and impervious and overwhelming. you believe what he says, because it’s not boasting, what he says is true. they are infinite. heck, you can only kill one reaper after extreme effort and an orbital strike against an already weakened one… and it’s like holy shit. how can you even fight millions of them. just being AROUND them indoctrinates you and damages your brain.
it gives shepard a real sense of exhaustion and slow overwhelming losses that I haven’t seen captured so well in a game before. you and shepard both think ‘I need to do this.’ but inside it’s like ‘how can I do this. they’re killing everyone and I can’t stop them.’
mass effect 3 especially is sometimes hard to play because the atmosphere of war and loss and feels so oppressive at times, like you slowly slide into shepard’s exhaustion and slipping grip on hope, the only bright spot your friends and LI and small snatched moments of peace
Eight years later and the opening sequence of Mass Effect 2 is still breathtakingly fantastic. The Normandy breaking up around you, forcing Joker into the escape pod as you are pinballed into the vacuum, your spacesuit breached and leaking air. Ballsy move, that. Killing your protagonist 5 minutes into the game.

this is a gift for @un-shit-yourself
This is the most glorious thing I’ve ever seen.
Oh no. Travel fever is getting more intense. Now I’m also thinking back on the day I spent in Vilnius. My favourite moments included 1) when I had a lovely meal at a terrace restaurant, 2) when I was admiring the view from Gediminas hill. The view was lovely because on one side of the hill, you could see the modern city centre, and on the other side, the old town. The day was hot and sunny, but there was a gentle breeze on the hill which made it better.
I called my grandma yesterday and we talked about travel stuff. And we MAY have planned for this summer’s travel things as well. For example, I’d love to take a small cruise in the Finnish archipelago, from Helsinki to Porvoo. I’d get to travel by an old ship, see the beautiful archipelago and visit the old town of Porvoo. That’d be so lovely.
